Did your first aid certificate expire over the lock-down period? If you hold a First Aid at Work or Paediatric First Aid qualification that expired on or after the 16th March then the good news is the HSE or DfE have accepted that you couldn’t renew it.
However they have set a deadline of the 30th September 2020 for these to be renewed.
“The first aid training industry in England is confident that enough courses will now be available for all required requalification training to take place. HSE has therefore agreed a final deadline for requalification for these qualifications of 30 September 2020.”Health & Safety Executive – First aid during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. https://www.hse.gov.uk/coronavirus/first-aid-and-medicals/first-aid-certificate-coronavirus.htm
This also means after the 30th September 2020 you will not be able to complete the two-day requalification for First Aid at Work, and instead will need to complete the full three-day Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification.
For paediatric first aid all learners still complete the two-day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid regardless of current certificate status.
