Who Should Take This Qualification ?

This qualification is for people who hold or intend to complete an Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification who may deal with special hazards in an emergency situation within a forestry / agricultural context.

Note: Those working in core operations on Forestry Commission land will require an appropriate and valid Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification in combination with this Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification.

Prerequisites

You should hold, or intend to complete, an Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification before attending the Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF). This qualification can be tagged on to both of these if required.

You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF). Learners should be physically capable of performing this tasks, which may include bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. If you qualification or course includes a CPR assessment, this will be required to be completed on the floor and may last for a minimum of 2 mins.

Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF), but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details. We would strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

For learners with English as a second language, a small pocket dictionary may be useful to help translate. If you feel you would benefit from receiving any course materials prior to starting your training then please get in touch.

Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.

What Will I Learn ?

During the Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) you will complete one unit.

During this unit, you will learn to deal with casualties suffering from the effects of extremes of heat and cold, catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries, Lyme Disease and Adder snake bites.

    • Multiple Choice Question Paper – Theory
