Qualification Summary

The aim of our Medical Gases Course is to enable learners to safely administer Oxygen and Entonox during a medical emergency. Emphasis is also places on airway management.

Who Should Take This Qualification ?

You should take this course if you have a responsibility for the administration of medical gases.


There are no prerequisites for this course.
You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Medical Gases Course.
Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Medical Gases Course, but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details.

What Will I Learn ?

During the Medical Gases Course you will learn to deal with a medical emergency that may benefit from the administration of medical gases. This will include the administration of medical oxygen and Entonox. You will also learn about Airway Management including the practical use of airway adjuncts and suction.

The Medical Gases Course has one unit that learners are required to complete.

The Medical Gases Course usually takes half a day to complete.

Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Oxygen

This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility to be able to safely administer and monitor the effects of emergency oxygen within their scope of practice.
