Who Should Take This Qualification ?

You should take this course if you have already received training in Manual Handling or Safer Handling and wish to refresh the principles.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to attend the Manual Handling ToolBox Talk / Refresher, although it is designed as refresher training to those who have already completed training in manual handling.

You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Manual Handling ToolBox Talk / Refresher. Learners should be physically capable of performing this tasks, which may include bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. If you qualification or course includes a CPR assessment, this will be required to be completed on the floor and may last for a minimum of 2 mins.

Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Manual Handling ToolBox Talk / Refresher, but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details. We would strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

For learners with English as a second language, a small pocket dictionary may be useful to help translate. If you feel you would benefit from receiving any course materials prior to starting your training then please get in touch.

Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training.

Qualification Structure

There is no formal assessment during the Manual Handling ToolBox Talk / Refresher. A certificate of attendance will be issued on completion.

The Manual Handling ToolBox Talk / Refresher usually takes two hours to complete.
