Paediatric First Aid & Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Courses

For those who have a specific responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities to look after or deal with children then dedicated paediatric first aid qualifications will be required.

Remember, when assessing your first aid needs that you need to take into account any staff that you have working on site (teachers, nursery assistants etc.) and any members of the public (parents, visitors etc.) and therefore may also need first aiders qualified in First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work.

We are able to offer a combined Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification.  Run over 3-days this provides both the “at work” and “paediatric” first aid requirements, without learners having to complete multiple courses.

Paediatric first aid qualifications are also ideal for parents who wish to gain better first aid knowledge in case of having to administer first aid on a child.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

The 2 day (12 hour) Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is based on the Ofsted guidelines for people who work with, or look after, children to enable them to have a basic knowledge of how to deal with emergency first aid situations. The aim of the qualification is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations which can arise when working with or looking after children. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the paediatric first aider.

Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

The 1 day (6 hour) Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid is ideal for people who work with or look after children, enabling them to have a basic knowledge of how to deal with paediatric emergency first aid situations. To meet EYFS or Ofsted requirements you will still need a minimum number first aiders who hold a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher)

The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher) qualification has been specifically designed to allow qualified paediatric first aiders to refresh their knowledge and practise essential paediatric first aid skills every year until requalification training is required.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined

The Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Qualification is ideal for those who work in settings that require both first aiders and paediatric first aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings. The Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Qualification is recognised by both the HSE & Ofsted.

This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, in being able to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency.
