The half day Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis is designed to provide the learner with a better understanding of the causes and treatment of Anaphylaxis. This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, at home or in voluntary and community activities, in being able to provide basic life support and manage anaphylaxis when dealing with an emergency. The content of this qualification is approved by the Anaphylaxis Campaign.

Qualification Summary

The purpose of the Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis is to assist the Learner to update their knowledge and their continuing professional development (CPD) through developing the skills and knowledge needed to provide Basic Life Support and manage Anaphylaxis.

Who Should Take This Qualification ?

You should take this course if you have a responsibility at work, at home or in a voluntary or community activity in being able to provide Basic Life Support and deal with casualties managing Anaphylaxis during an emergency situation. You may already hold a First Aid qualification but wish to extend your knowledge on managing Anaphylaxis.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course. You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis. Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis, but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.

What Will I Learn ?

During the Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis you will complete one unit. This unit will teach you to deal with emergency situations which may require Basic Life Support and / or the management of Anaphylaxis.

Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator

The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator is designed to enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely. As this is a half day qualification, ideally you will already hold a first aid qualification.
