The Three Day First Response Emergency Care (Level 3) FREC 3 (Requalification) is for those who already hold a valid in-date First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) or Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care qualification and wish to renew that qualification.

Qualification Summary

The aim of the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) is to enable learners to requalify with the knowledge and competencies needed to work as a First Responder. It is ideal for those who wish to work within the Event Medical Sector, or as a stepping stone to working within the private medical world in roles such as Patient Transport. It replaces the Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care Requalification.

Who Should Take This Qualification ?

You should take the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) if you are working (or plan to work) within the private medical sector. It is ideal for those working within the event environment, but can also be suitable for those looking for Patient Transport work or those in the security, event stewarding and close protection sectors.

You should already hold a valid, in-date Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care qualification or similar.

The Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) is also recognised by the HSE as meeting the requirements for First Aid at Work.

Prerequisites

To attend the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) you must already posses a valid, in-date First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) qualification or Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care.

We will require to see you current certificate before you start the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) to confirm eligibility. If you do not meet these criteria then you will need to complete the full five day Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF).

You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification). Learners should be physically capable of performing this tasks, which may include bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. If you qualification or course includes a CPR assessment, this will be required to be completed on the floor and may last for a minimum of 2 mins.

Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification), but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details. We would strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

For learners with English as a second language, a small pocket dictionary may be useful to help translate. If you feel you would benefit from receiving any course materials prior to starting your training then please get in touch.

Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of the training.

What Will I Learn ?

During the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) FREC 3 (Requalification) you will complete one unit.

This will teach you to deal with emergency situations in the work place, such as performing CPR or dealing with someone who is choking. You will also learn how to be a good first aider, and how to deal with a first aid situation.
