The aim of the Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with the more common (and serious) first aid situations. It will develop both skills and knowledge in the area of first aid.
Who Should Take This Qualification ?
You should take the Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials if you have a need to complete an entry level first aid course but are not required to meet any regulatory requirements, such as the Health and Safety (First-Aid) regulations 1981. If you have a need to meet this requirements, either now or in the future, then we would always recommend completing the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work. The qualification content and duration and very similar. This qualification may be suited to you if you work in the care or social sectors.
There are no prerequisites for this course. You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials. Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the course or qualification, but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. What Will I Learn ?
During the Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials you will complete one unit. This unit will teach you to deal with emergency situations, such as performing CPR or dealing with someone who is choking. You will also learn how to be a good first aider, and how to deal with a first aid situation.
The Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials has one unit that learners are required to complete in order to achieve the qualification.
