The aim of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations involving both adults and children. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider.
Who Should Take This Qualification ?
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined is ideally suited to those who work with both adults and children, such as those in schools and societies. It meets all the requirements of those people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to be workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It also meets all the requirements set by Ofsted for those who work to the guidelines laid down in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or to local authority requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course. You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the course or qualification, but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. What Will I Learn ?
During the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined you will completed four units. The first two will teach you to deal with emergency situations, such as performing CPR or dealing with someone who is choking. You will also learn how to be a good first aider, and how to deal with a first aid situation. The second two units will help you deal with illness and further injury. Topics such as Heart Attacks, Strokes, Epilepsy & Diabetes are covered, along with further insight into injuries such as burns, fractures and wounds. Emphasis is placed on dealing with both adults and children.
TheLevel 3 Award in First Aid at Work & Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Combined has four units that learners are required to complete in order to achieve the qualification.
