The aim of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Requalification) is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider.
Who Should Take This Qualification ?
You should take this course if you are required to complete a First Aid at Work course for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) regulations 1981. This may mean that you have assessed your working environment and decided that you need one (or more) full First Aid at Work Qualified persons on site.
To attend the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Requalification) you must already possess a valid, in-date First Aid at Work certificate.
- A certificate will be considered valid if was issued by an Awarding Organisation and is a Regulated Qualification. If this is not the case then we can usually accept the certificate providing it states "for the purpose of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981".
- A certificate will be considered in-date if it will not have expired by the time you have completed the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (Requalification) (i.e. the last day of the course). Certificates that will have expired by no more than one calendar month are also acceptable.
What Will I Learn ?
During the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Requalification) you will completed two units. The first will teach you to deal with emergency situations in the work place, such as performing CPR or dealing with someone who is choking. You will also learn how to be a good first aider, and how to deal with a first aid situation. The second unit will help you deal with illness and further injury in the work place. Topics such as Heart Attacks, Strokes, Epilepsy & Diabetes are covered, along with further insight into injuries such as burns, fractures and wounds.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Requalification) has two units that learners are required to complete in order to achieve the qualification.
