Half Day Medical Gases Course Including Both Oxygen And Entonox

Our Medical Gases course is a half day course designed to instruct the learner in the administration of Oxygen and Entonox along with Airway Management.

Qualification Summary

The aim of our Medical Gases course is to enable learners to safely administer Oxygen and Entonox during a medical emergency. Emphasis is also places on airway management .

Who Should Take This Qualification ?

You should take this course if you have a responsibility for the administration of medical gases.


Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training. Before they can register on to this course, Learners must have:

  • Successfully completed a minimum of a Level 3 First Aid at Work (QCF) (FAW) or higher level first aid/ emergency care qualification or QA recognised equivalent, and
  • Knowledge/awareness of an automated external defibrillator (AED) if it isn’t incorporated into the FAW
You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Medical Gases course. Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the course, but there is a learner workbook that must be completed through the course. Please contact us for further details.

What Will I Learn ?

During the Medical Gases course you will learn to deal with a medical emergency that may benefit from the administration of medical gases. This will include the administration of medical oxygen and Entonox. You will also learn about Airway Management including the practical use of airway adjuncts and suction.

Qualification Structure

This course has one session that learners are required to complete in order to achieve certification. The course is just over half a day in duration.
